(टाइम्स ख़बर)। तमिलनाडु के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री और डीएमके अध्यक्ष करुणानिधि के निधन पर राष्ट्रीय शोक की घोषणा की गई। कल राष्ट्रीय राजधानी दिल्ली समेत देश के तमाम राज्यों के राजधानी में राष्ट्रीय ध्वज आधा झूका रहेगा। द्रविड़ योद्धा के नाम से चर्चित करुणानिधि गरीबों के बीच काफी लोकप्रिय थे। इसलिये इनके निधन पर सिर्फ तमिलनाडु ही नहीं बल्कि देशभर में उनकी बातों को सुना जाता था। इनका अंतिम संस्कार 8 अगस्त को किया जायेगा यानी कल। इस मौके प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी भी शामिल होने वाले हैं। इनका अंतिम संस्कार राजकीय सम्मान के साथ किया जायेगा। पूरे देश में राष्ट्रीय शोक घोषित किया गया है।
तमिलनाडु सरकार ने 7 दिनों का राजकीय शोक का ऐलान किया है और कल तमिलनाडु में छुट्टी का ऐलान किया।

He had an impressive life journey, starting as a screen writer in Tamil film industry to being five term Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. No one can forget his struggle during Emergency, imposed in 1975.
कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी - Loved by the Tamilian people, Kalaignar strode the stage of Tamil politics, like a colossus, for over 6 decades. In his passing, India has lost a great son. My condolences to his family as also to the millions of Indians who grieve for their beloved leader tonight...... Like Jayalalitha ji, Kalaignar was an expression of the voice of the Tamil people. That voice deserves to be given space on Marina Beach. I am sure the current leaders of Tamil Nadu will be magnanimous in this time of grief.

फारूक अब्बदुला, नेता नेशनल कांफ्रेंस - एक महान नेता का निधन हुआ है। वह तमिलनाडु ही नहीं पूरे देश का प्रतिनिधित्व करते थे। उन्होंने संघवाद और तमिलनाडु के लोगों के लिए लड़ाई लड़ी थी। अगर उनकी सामाधि के लिए जमीन नहीं दी गई तो तमिलनाडु के लोग राज्य सरकार को कभी माफ नहीं करेंगे।
रजनीकांत , फिल्म स्टार - तमिलनाडु सरकार को करुणानिधि का अंतिम संस्कार अन्ना मेमोरियल के नजदीक करने के लिए सभी जरूरी कदम उठाने चाहिए। यह उनको सबसे बड़ी श्रद्धांजलि होगी।आज मेरी जिंदगी का एक काला दिन है। यह दिन मैं नहीं भूल सकता, मैंने कलाइनार (करुणानिधि) को खो दिया। मैं उनकी आत्मा की शांति के लिए प्रार्थना करता हूं।
उपरोक्त नेताओं के अलावा देश के तमाम दिग्गजों ने कलाईनार करुणानिधि को श्रद्धांजलि दी।
